Mer-Krete™ Latex 200
and Filler 211

MAXIMUM STRENGTH
TILE SETTING SYSTEM

DESCRIPTION:
Latex 200 is a compounded and stabilized latex emulsion designed for use with Filler 211. The resultant mastic is then notched troweled to form thin mortar beds to set and adhere ceramic, quarrry, brick and stone tiles. When cured, these mastics display excellent physical properties in adhesion, resiliency, water and weather resistance. This system meets or exceeds all ANSI A-118.4 requirements.

USE:
A latex modified mortar additive for setting ceramic and quarry tile, glass mosaic, slate, brick, stone, marble and glasstile. Latex 200 and Filler 211 develops a strong bond to all common substrates, i.e. concrete, masonry, wallboard and plaster.

ADVANTAGES:
• Adheres to all common sound substrates.
• Non-shrinking.
• Non-toxic and non-flammable.
• Non-staining.
• Water resistant – will not bleed.
• CTIOA tested.

LIMITATIONS:
• Cannot be applied or stored in freezing weather. After installation, however, this mastic has excellent resistance to frost damage (freeze-thaw cycling).
• Not recommended on wood unless certain conditions are met.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
No sealers, curing compounds or coatings shall be used on the substrate. Surfaces shall be left clean. Any contaminants shall be removed prior to application.
Spread only as much mortar as can be covered while the surface is still tacky. Dusty or dry concrete surfaces should be washed with clean water just prior to commencing work and left uniformly damp (no standing water).
Patching, leveling or areas requiring a mortar bed should be prepared using a Mer-Krete Underlayment.

INSTALLATION:
Work should be performed only by a trained applicator familiar with these products and in strict accordance with manufacturer application specifications, abbreviated below:
The proportions of the mix depend on the temperature and humidity. Higher temperatures and drier humidities will require slightly more latex to reach optimum spreading consistency. Generally one 5 gallon pail will wet out 150 to 200 pounds of Mer-Krete Filler 211.
• Expansion joints shall be spaced per current TCA manual and shall be installed against all restraining surfaces. Consult current TCA manual for expansion joint recommendations.
• Grout or point all joints using prepared grout with enough 150 Acrylic Latex to bring the mix to a workable consistency.

AVAILABILITY:
Mer-Krete Systems are installed by trained contractors located throughout the U.S.
